Human Rights Reports Document Discrimination
The German government has claimed that “In its campaign to discredit Germany, Scientology uses the tactic of supplying only incomplete information to back up its claims, making it extremely difficult for the German government to research and respond to charges.”
Voluminous evidence presented to human rights and governmental bodies by the Church has led to independent investigations which provide unequivocal proof that the statements of the ex-Foreign Minister, Mr. Klaus Kinkel, and other government officials denying government discriminatory policies are false.
The German government has never made any effort to research Scientologists’ complaints of discrimination. In responding to complaints, the German government relies on weak denials accompanied by a string of generalized, unsubstantiated and irrelevant accusations against Scientology.
The Church of Scientology has now documented 1,000 discrimination cases. There are more than 20 international human rights reports showing the existence of a pattern and practice of systemic discrimination against Scientologists in Germany, solely on the basis of their religious beliefs. The State Department has criticized the German government for religious discrimination against Scientologists in its last six annual human rights reports.
